I can't win!

So for St. Patrick's Day I was planning to get Jason something...at the very least a card. Well work got busy, wedding planning got in the way and before I knew it the holiday had come and gone. And to make me feel worse that wonderful man had got me this awesome necklace! Sorry I used the crappy old camera so it might be blurry but it's a shamrock from 4 hearts.

So Friday I had the day off (markets are closed on Good Friday) and so I had time to stop by Fred Meyer to put together a little basket for him filled with some little goodies (since we are working out and all). Cute huh?

Easter morning I ran downstairs to grab it and bring it upstairs, I turned the corner and found this on the bed!

I can't win! This basket had everything I love, the hollow Palmer bunny ( like I used to get as a kid but a ginormus one), Mint Milky Ways (which are awesome frozen), Peeps (which are awesome left out and hard), peanut butter eggs, and Lindt chocolate! And me with my stupid little basket for him....at least it was orange, right?

Happy St. Patrick's Day!

St. Patrick's Day...one of my favorite holidays. Growing up it was always a big deal in the Winkle household! My mom's grandparents are off the boat Irish so it was always a big dinner with Corned Beef and cabbage (one of my favorite meals), homemade Irish Soda Bread (which I made this year) and Colcannon. My mom would start blaring the Celtic music starting right after Valentine's Day.

I hear that true Irishmen (and women) don't celebrate St. Patrick's Day, which really is the feast day of Saint Patrick. Corned Beef and cabbage is American and really only a small amount of people are of Irish descent even though practically everyone claims to be. Well I don't care, I'm drawn to it. I love it all. I love the green, I love the shamrocks, I love the music, I love the history, I love the food and I love the beer! So to all of you...a Happy St. Patrick's Day!

Welcome to the world Marcus!

On Friday Jason's sister, Kim, finally gave birth to a beautiful baby boy! May I introduce to you Marcus Samuel Erwin (and yes that's Uncle Jas holding him...too cute!).

We went over to the hospital to visit today. He is such a sweet and peaceful baby and pretty darn cute too. Congrats to the Erwin Family!

Happy Birthday Goldy!

Well, yesterday was Goldy's Birthday. At least what I refer to as her birthday. Three years ago yesterday I went down to the Idaho Humane Society and fell in love with an 5 year old purebred Golden Lab. Well come to find out first there is no such thing as a Golden Lab...she's just a perfect cross between a Yellow Labrador and a Golden Retriever and the county has her registered by previous owners as 3 years older! So yesterday she turned 12. Her hearing has gone, shes a lot whiter, she moves a lot slower but she's still the sweetest, lovable, hairy, neurotic but wonderful dogs I know!

Happy Birthday Pooh Bear!

I've been kicked out!

...of the garage that is. Last Sunday we planned on watching the Oscars. One of the things I like to do is fill out ballots and see who guess the most correct award winners. So it was just Jason against me. I've done this numerous times before and never won and this year I haven't seen really any of the movies. I really should have rethought this. Anyways the bet was if Jason won he got a week of parking in the garage. And if I won he would wash and vacuum out my car. Well I lost...surprise. surprise!

So I'm outside, scraping everyday at 6:45am...it sucks! The good thing is come Monday my car will be snug back in the garage. I can't wait! For now you can all feel sorry for me.

Gorgeous!

I don't mean to brag (or maybe I do!) but my man bought me three dozen roses for Valentine's Day...yes three dozen! Anyways they are gorgeous and here is a picture of them taken tonight! Yes they have lasted over a week...and they still look sooo pretty! I love them and the sweet man who gave them to me!

Oh and here's a picture I took this weekend when I was scrubbing the kitchen from ceiling to floor. Goldy got a little worn out begging for food and just parked herself in her bowl. She cracks me up!

10 Questions

My lovely fiance posted on his blog the 10 Questions that they ask in the show "Inside the Actors Studio". Here is that specific post...http://jasonhaberman.com/index.php/2008/02/13/actors-studio-10-questions/
And here are my answers. Feel free to comment your own answers or post them on your blog!

1.) What is your favorite word?

I guess I'm a sucker for polite words like please, thank you (ok that two), sorry...they're always good to hear!

2.) What is your least favorite word?

Moist, Giddy, and Bubbles....now feel free to join the crowd that already torments me with them

3.) What turns you on creatively, spiritually or emotionally?

Easy...just being with Jason. Some how I can be all stress out and just sitting down with him, sometimes not even talking, I seem to calm down....kinda nice! Also music as well as pretty landscapes, and pictures...basically beauty.

4.) What turns you off creatively, spiritually or emotionally?

People who monopolize conversations, rude people, and for some reason dark super windy days can stress me out!

5.) What sound or noise do you love?

Opening anything vacuumed sealed. The noise of the garage door, cause I know someone is coming home. Ocean...definitely the ocean. Oh and I haven't heard it but I soooo want to, the sound of a huge glass jar of sauerkraut hitting the blacktop in the parking lot...oh that would be so cool!

6.) What sound or noise do you hate?

Music that is just low enough and far enough away that you can't recognize it....drive me bonkers. Clocks ticking are pretty bad...it's the repetitive sound.

7.) What is your favorite curse word?

I would say "shit" based on how much I use it. I like the phrase "metric shit ton" and a new one that popped out of my mouth recently was "shit fuck"...classy I know.

8.) What profession other than your own would you like to attempt?

I've always had this dream of owning a flower shop....I would love that. Oh and maybe having a farm or a ranch...the idea of it seems great but I'm sure I wouldn't like it after awhile. My goal after graduating college with a degree in Video Productions was to make music videos. But I don't have tough enough skin for that...

9.) What profession would you not like to do?

I don't think that I would be a great teacher. I can't handle all the questions. Also anything dealing with trash or poo...no way!

10.) If Heaven exists, what would you like to hear God say when you arrive at the Pearly Gates?

I can't remember who actually said this on the program but I thought it was great. Something along the lines "Come with me, we'll sit down and talk about all the pain and suffering in the world and I'll explain why..."

Have a great weekend!
